A study was conducted with 20 Mary Kay beauty consultants, half of whom distributed promotional gifts (imprinted lint removers) to customers; the other ten offered no promotional gifts. Both groups then asked customers (200 in all) to refer the names of acquaintances. Findings are presented below.
-Customers who received a promotional product were 14% more likely to provide leads than those who did not.
-Salespeople who gave promotional gifts to their customers received 22% more referrals than salespeople who did not use promotional products.
-40% of the salespeople who used the gifts commented on how well the gifts were received by their customers.
Providing promotional gifts to customers increases the likelihood of them providing your salespeople with business referrals, and increases the number of leads generated. Over 35 years ago Touchline Industries owners entered the promotional products field occupying 1000 sq. ft. and 8 employees. In 1987 a new company, Master Graphics, was incorporated to complement Touchlines production capabilities by providing in-house offset printing for items such as diaries, bank passbooks, passbooks, stationery, etc. This addition to the manufacturing pool allowed the company to remain competitive and to build on its diverse product portfolio. Today, Touchline has expanded its offices and production facilities to over 12,000 sq. ft. and employs an average of 60 people between both companies.Touchline has endured economical challenges and world wide competition over the years but continues to support the manufacturing sector utilizing Jamaicas local workforce. This use of specialized talent enables the company to offer affordable products, quality printing and the level of service and delivery that are beyond normal expectations. The company has also shared many long term relationships with customers as well as staff and it is these virtues along with the flexible and personable culture of the company that has contributed to the growth of Touchline over the years.Touchline is an equal opportunity employer that includes in its work force several gifted handicapped individuals and young men trained in printing at the Alpha Boys School.
